Designer's Notes:
Mohair is a remarkably warm fiber, which is why it is such a great compliment to a lace pattern. You can add all of those yarn over holes and not lose the warmth of your garment. This pattern started out as an exercise in color and turned into my favorite summer shawl. If you'd like to reproduce the look of the sample above, then choose a heavy mohair yarn in variegated colors you love. Next, find a smooth yarn in a complimentary color that you don't find actually in the mohair. The pairing might feel a little strange, but the two yarns together will just sing.
